About VoGro
VoGro connects Palo Alto seniors with nearby volunteers who help with groceries, prescriptions, errands, and company. We started because a lot of older people around here need a hand, and a lot of neighbors want to give one.
Why VoGro exists
In Palo Alto — one of the most connected communities in the world — thousands of seniors still struggle with basic everyday tasks. Getting groceries, picking up prescriptions, mailing a package, or simply having someone to talk to. These aren't luxuries. They're basics that keep people living on their own.
At the same time, there are hundreds of people in this community — students, retirees, working professionals — who want to help but don't know how to start. VoGro bridges that gap.
We're not a home health agency or a gig app. We just make it easier for neighbors to help each other — with enough structure and safety checks that families can feel good about it.
Our Values
Trust
Background checks, references, and orientation aren't just boxes to check. They're the basics we get right so you can feel okay saying yes.
Dignity
Every senior deserves to be treated with respect and patience. Our volunteers are trained to listen, not to take over.
Community
VoGro isn't a faceless service. It's people helping people a few blocks away. That's the whole idea.
Simplicity
Requesting help should be easy, not stressful. We keep things simple — one phone call, one form, or one chat is all it takes.
